BSC Elective Classes

1st & 2nd Graders

Complete this form to sign up for Session B Electives

• This form must be completed by Friday, 12/1/23. 
• Filling out this form in no way guarantees student placement in a class.  
• Priority will be given to those who did not get into a class in the previous session. 
• Please check the box of the elective you would like your child to participate in. 
• Only check one box per section.
• An email placement verification will be sent home by Monday, 1/8/24. If you don’t receive an email, please check your SPAM folder as some of our emails go to SPAM. :(

Dates

• Session B Elective classes will run for 15 weeks. 
• Classes begin the week of 1/16/24 (a Tuesday) and will go until Friday, 5/17/24.  
• There will be NO electives the week before Spring Break, the 2 weeks during Spring Break, and any holiday where there is no school (there are 3 Mondays). 

Elective Info.

• 1st & 2nd grade electives are from 2:05-2:55 pm (50 minutes). 
• Electives that do not have enough participation may be canceled. Days, times, classes, teachers, and costs are subject to change.
• Electives without a cost displayed are free. Some electives, however, require parents to pay for materials or teacher compensation, so please keep this in mind when choosing classes. The name of the elective teacher is listed in parenthesis.

Extended Learning Opportunities Program (ELO-P)

If your family qualifies for the ELO-P program, the class fee will be waived for the following electives: Art, Chinese, Illustration, Piano, Sprout & Blossom Gardening, SoccerShots, and Yoga. For the remaining elective classes, not listed, you may fill out an elective scholarship HERE for possible help with the cost.

Multiple Students to Sign Up?

If you have more than one child in your family seeking electives, you need to go back into your email and click the link again to sign up for each of your other children. The names, numbers, and websites (if available) of elective teachers are listed below for you to contact if you have any questions.

What’s Next?

• Once elective class placements are emailed out on, 1/8/24, a waitlist form will be available online where you will be able to sign your child up for additional electives and/or be placed on a waitlist for full classes. 
• If your child is accepted into an additional elective, you will be notified. Do not call the school to ask about elective placement. 
• Use the online "Waitlist" form found in the "Electives" tab at www.inlandleaders.com. 
• Classes may be canceled due to low enrollment. You will be contacted if this issue arises. 
• Please remember to send or reserve a school lunch on the days your student attends electives and ensure they are picked up in a timely fashion. 
• Students who do not attend their elective consistently will be dropped from the class, but still expected to pay for classes attended. 
• Electives are a privilege and student expectations for excellent behavior apply. They are not intended as "after-school care," but to provide enrichment opportunities. Students who seem disinterested or unmotivated, or are misbehaving, may be exited.
